Hideaway Hut

Back at the Hideaway Hut where we stayed nearly 6 years ago after our wedding day.

This cute little hut is our home for a couple of nights. A few things have changed since the last time we came here: the location of the hut is slightly different, Demelza the pig has a friend, BamBam, & there is a fabulous swimming pool, sauna, & hot tub, & children's park, most of which is new.

When we got there, we had a small tray of nice goodies left for us, which consisted of fresh ground coffee, a packet of biscuits & a bottle of apple juice made locally, & beside the tray was a cup of freshly picked wild flowers. It was a lovely way to be greeted. I do love this place; the view is full of beautiful rolling green fields, complete with horses! I had the chance to feed the animals in the mornings, which I of course enjoyed doing! Hand feeding the goats & sheep, I even got to bottle feed a young sheep! There were rabbits & guinea-pigs there too. Rabbits included two adults, Heidi (who looked so much like Ellen's rabbit, Cathy) & Merdock (a fabulous grumpy grey lion-head), & two babies, Snips & Biscuit. They didn't have names for the young bunnies when we got there, but they decided to Snips for the boy because he had a white snip on his nose, & I was talking about how much the little girl looked like a baby version of my Biscuit, & I was blown away when the woman who looked after them suggested naming the little one Biscuit to honor my Biscuit.

We went to Looe & found the place we ate at six years ago - our first meal out as a married couple - & had lunch, recreating the photo! We also ate at an American diner called Route 39. We spent two nights chilling in the hot tub, which was pretty much the only time Chris didn't suffer from hayfever! It was so bad that he couldn't open the door without sneezing.
