Landing in Japan

Waiting in Dubai was long & uncomfortable. We had a McDonalds as everything else at the airport was either closed or expensive, then waited & waited & waited some more. The flight to Tokyo was longer & more uncomfortable than the flight from London as the plane was smaller & the journey was longer. The food was nice though & I watched a few movies before we landed in Japan.

We got into a 6 seater taxi & I sat up front with the driver to tell him where we needed to go as I was the only one who knew any Japanese. It was only a 30 minute journey to our hotel - Sakura Hotel, Hatagaya, & when we got there I started to introduce ourselves to the staff in Japanese, but they spoke near perfect English. Our room is tiny - smaller than any hotel room I've ever stayed in, but it has a double bed, en-suite, & air-con, which are the main things we cared about!
